Notre Dame basketball saw a familiar story unfold again last night at North Carolina State. Down by 11 in the first half, by nine in the second, the Irish came back each time. But once again, the Irish could not hold on down the stretch in an 85-82 loss, their fourth straight. Now 1-and-9 in ACC play, the Irish are back home in Purcell Pavilion Saturday at noon against Louisville.

The Irish women are home Thursday night this week against Florida State, without starting guard Dara Mabrey, who was lost for the season Sunday against Virginia with a knee injury. The tip is at 8:00pm, with Sean Stires calling the action on Live 99.9.

In the Big Ten, Illinois won at home over Ohio State, 69-60. The Indiana Hoosiers are at Minnesota tonight at 9:00 on the Big Ten Network.

An entertaining game last night in Indy between the Pacers and the Chicago Bulls, but they fell short in the end in a 116-110 loss. The Pacers play at Orlando tonight. The Bulls are back home Thursday against Charlotte.

Hockey: The Chicago Blackhawks lost at Vancouver, 5-to-2. The Redwings beat San Jose in Detroit, 3-to-2 in overtime.
