Seventh ranked Notre Dame women’s basketball is at home in Purcell Pavilion tonight to face 24th ranked Florida State, without veteran starting guard Dara Mabrey. Coach Niele Ivey says Mabrey’s loss to a season-ending knee injury will open opportunities for other players. Freshman KK Bransford seems a likely candidate to start in Mabrey’s place, but Ivey says other players will also get more minutes. As the Indianapolis Colts continue to interview coaching candidates, CBS Sports among others is reporting that owner Jim Irsay wants to keep interim coach Jeff Saturday, amid opposition from others in the organization. At least seven people, mostly top current assistant coaches in the league, are scheduled for second interviews with the team. Irsay hired Saturday as intermim after he fired Frank Reich following a 3-5-and-1 start. Saturday went 1-and-7 the rest of the way as the Colts posted a 4-12-and-1 record, their worst since 20-17.

In Chicago, the Bears have a choice to make with their number one overall draft pick: keep it and use it, or trade it for more picks further down the draft. A lot of analysts predict the Bears could use the pick on Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, a potential anchor as the Bears try to rebuild their once-great defense. The three-day NFL draft opens April 27th.

Big Ten basketball: the Indiana Hoosiers won at Minnesota last night, 61-to-57. Top ranked Purdue faces Michigan in Ann Arbor tonight at 9:00 on FS1. Michigan State hosts Iowa in East Lansing at 7:00 tonight.

NBA: the Indiana Pacers followed up Tuesday’s home win over the Chicago Bulls with a loss at Orlando last night, 126-120. The Bulls play at Charlotte tonight.

In hockey, the Detroit Redwings face the Islanders in New York tonight. The Chicago Blackhawks are at Calgary.
