Notre Dame women’s basketball now awaits the decision of the NCAA selection committee on its NCAA Tournament matchups and destination, after falling to Louisville 64-38 in the ACC semifinals over the weekend. The Irish keenly felt the loss of point guard Olivia Miles, who missed the game with a knee injury. Whether Miles can return for the NCAA Tournament will be a big factor in Irish hopes. They will learn their seeding and whether they will host first and second round games when the selection committee makes its decisions this Sunday evening.

The Irish men are in their conference tournament tomorrow after ending the regular season Saturday with an 87-64 loss to Clemson. The next loss will mark the end of Coach Mike Brey’s 23 year career at Notre Dame. The Irish face Virginia Tech in the first round tomorrow night at 7 here on Sports Radio 960 WSBT.

Notre Dame hockey’s season came to an end Sunday evening in a deciding game three of their Big Ten tournament series against Michigan State, 4-to-2, ending hopes of an NCAA tournament bid. Notre Dame had been to the tournament five straight years.

Big Ten basketball over the weekend: Purdue closed its season with a 76-71 home win over Illinois. Indiana edged Michigan in Bloomington, 75-73 in overtime. Saturday, Michigan State beat Ohio State, 84-78. The Big Ten tournament opens Wednesday, but Purdue and Indiana don’t play till Friday.

In the NHL: the Detroit Redwings lost at Philly, 3-to-1. The Blackhawks host Ottawa tonight in Chicago.

NBA: the Indiana Pacers downed the Bulls in Chicago, 125-122.
