GALIEN – The search for a home invasion suspect in Berrien County is over, and police have now released a picture of the alleged culprit.

Berrien County police say an animal control officer came home Wednesday morning to find a man in his house.

This happened in the 4600 block of Kinne Road around 10:15 a.m. Lt. Robert Boyce with the Berrien County Sherriff’s Office says the suspect, who was not armed, ran from the home and disappeared into the surrounding fields.

Officers used various methods to find the suspect, including K-9s, but were initially unsuccessful.

Officers eventually arrested 39-year-old Jonnathan Jay Davis for the crime.

There have been other break-ins in the area recently, according to Boyce, but so far there is no indication this is connected. The investigation is ongoing.
