The young girl shot during a home invasion attempt Friday night in Elkhart has died.
A family member confirms 7-year-old Kristyana Jackson was declared brain dead earlier Sunday morning and her parents have decided to donate her organs.
Kristyana and her mother attended Friday night's Memorial vs. Central football game in Elkhart. They returned home from the game and were about to go in their house in the 700 block of Kilbourn Street when three men rushed them.
The husband and child's father was in the house. He opened the front door and was shot three times. He was treated and released.
Friends of the family are planning a vigil for Kristyana. It will be Monday night at 8 at the home where the shootings took place on Kilbourn Street.
