Police confirmed to WSBT late Friday afternoon a missing St. Joseph girl and her mother have been found safe in Chicago.
An Amber Alert was issued Thursday for 2-year-old Chloe West.
Mark Clapp, St. Joseph Public Safety Dept. director, said via news release, the child’s mother, Lisa West is now awaiting extradition to Michigan and will be charged with parental kidnapping.
The girl will be brought back to St. Joseph Friday night and placed in the care of the Department of Child Services.
The girl and her mother were having a supervised visit in the 500 block of Court Street in St. Joseph on Thursday, when it's believed Lisa West left the residence with Chloe, without permission from Child Protective Services.
