Starke County police responded to a home in Knox Wednesday after a woman called 911 stating that she had just shot her boyfriend.
This happened just after 3:30 p.m. at County Road 550 East, near County Road 200 South in Knox. Police arrived to find 46-year-old Ron Worker of Knox unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police say they arrested 51-year-old Kathleen Holt of Knox and found a firearm they believe was used in the shooting.
After making the scene safe for medics, they tried to resuscitate Worker. He later died in I.U. Starke Hospital.
Holt is being held in Starke County Jail for murder. Her bond has not been set at this time.
An autopsy on Worker was scheduled for Thursday. The investigation is ongoing.
