PLYMOUTH – Whitley Products in Plymouth has called its employees who were laid off last week back to work.
That’s according to a release from WorkOne, which says it is opening a job fair to the public that was originally planned for Whitley workers.
That job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 4 at 401 East Jefferson Street, Plymouth.
“This event is open to the public,” according to the release. “An invitation to the public is warranted because Whitley Products employees, who were informed Jan. 24, 2013, of their displacement due to a plant closure, were called back to work unexpectedly on Jan. 31 during a WorkOne Rapid Response Event, which was canceled.”
Whitley Products closed after 35 years, saying they didn't have the money to stay in business. WSBT is currently looking into what changed at the company to cause them to call workers back. Stay with us for updates.
