A man was sent to the hospital Tuesday morning following a home invasion on South Bend's east side. Police say two males forced their way into a home in the 1000 block of North Ironwood, just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

One male, one female and two teenagers were home at the time of the break-in.

Police say the two males broke down the front door.

The male homeowner struggled with one of the men who broke in and received head wounds as a result. The woman said she awoke to find the two intruders in her bedroom.

One of the men pulled her out of bed by the hair and put a gun to her head.

Police are still on the lookout for the suspects, described by those in the home as  men as wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts.
