The Leonid meteor shower will be putting on a show late tonight and into early Saturday morning. You should be able to see some meteors after midnight with the peak occurring sometime between 3 and 4:30 a.m. EST.

Astronomers estimate you may be able to see 15 to 20 meteors per hour. Some say look to the east for the best viewing but the meteors will be visible all across the sky.

Mostly clear skies will help with the viewing in our area. Of course temperatures falling into the 20s might affect how long you want to stay outside looking up! It helps to be away from city lights. Be careful if you are heading to find a prime viewing location because we could see some patchy fog in a few spots.
