Elkhart's mayor has closed Grace Lawn Cemetery because of erosion.
The cemetery is located along the riverbank in Elkhart. Due to the dry weather and erosion, a woman recently found a bone unearthed there.
Officials are working to determine if it is an animal or human bone.
Anyone wishing to visit a grave will have to call ahead to make arrangements. Maintenance work is planned in an effort to shore it up and re-open it to the public.
