ELKHART -- The boyfriend of a woman shot and killed by her apparent ex-lover said the gunman kept texting and calling Millicent Morros in recent days and even showed up at her Goshen workplace last week.
“I think if she was taking it seriously she probably would've done something different this morning,” said Dennis Butler, who was in a relationship with Morros since early February.
Butler said he and Morros talked recently about how Eric Haitsma, who police described as the shooter in Monday's murder-suicide, kept pursuing Morros, even after the two ended what Butler described as a difficult relationship.
“She sent me a text message saying that she would love and care about me forever and that was the last text I got from her at 7:30 this morning,” Butler said.
