UPDATE: As of 11:00 a.m., the system is partially up and working, but if someone calls 911 the call still might not go through.  So, police are still asking people to use the non-emergency number, which goes to the county police dispatch: 269-467-4195.

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- If you live in Constantine, you won't be able to dial out to 9-1-1 Thursday morning.

A representative from the St. Joseph County central dispatch tells us that the service went down just after 6 a.m. Thursday.

According to dispatch, a downed wire is to blame for the outage -- which may be a result of the weather conditions.

There is no word on when service will be restored.

If you live in Constantine and need to dial out for help, you can call their non-emergency number at 269-467-4195.
