ELKHART – An arrest as been made in the death of a 69-year-old Elkhart man.
An autopsy found James Grant was killed by a sharp object, what was described as "sharp force trauma."
Grant was also known as Tyrannosaurus Rex Mullins.
Police were called to 1701½ Morton Av. when they found Grant dead inside. This was in late July.
"During the course of the investigation homicide detectives identified Brandon Lee Johnston as a suspect," said Ed Windbigler with the Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office. "The Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed the charge against Johnston in the Elkhart Circuit Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Johnston was arrested that same day and remains in the Elkhart County Correctional facility."
Neighbors say Grant was a convicted sex offender.
An initial hearing for 18-year-old Johnston has been set for August 23, 2012 at 8:30 a.m.
