An incredible story – a 5-year-old boy abducted by his grandparents nearly 20 years ago has been found.
Richard Landers Jr. disappeared from his LaGrange County home back in 1994, during court proceedings over his custody.
Police found him in Minnesota, married and doing fine – now 24 years old.Over the years, Police searched for him. He was considered missing and endangered.
Warrants were out for his grandparents' arrest. But no one knew where they were. And in 2008 all the charges against the grandparents were dropped.
Police continued to investigate and eventually stumbled on a man living in Long Prairie, Minnesota with a matching social security number and date of birth.
Police say his grandparents were using different names.
And tonight, the parents of that once-missing boy have some closure and some re-connecting to do.
