High voter turnout in Benton Harbor

One of the busiest polling places in Berrien County is in the city of Benton Harbor. Hundreds of people have been waiting in long lines all morning at Benton Harbor High School to cast their ballot.

Most voters waited an hour or longer before they got their ballot. Many people we talked to say they're most interested in the presidential race.

"We would hate to lose our benefits because a lot of us don¿t work,¿ said Sylvia Yates. ¿So it's best we get out and vote and do what's right."

"¿I want to make a difference, make a change," said Bessie Williams.

The high school is one of three voting locations in the city.

In the last presidential election voter turnout in Berrien County was a record 65 percent. The clerk's office is anticipating another high turnout this election.
