HENRY MELTON, DL
“We just tried to get it corrected. Someone was also just not in the right place. We just got to work on that.”
On what worked vs. Vikings:
“We were doing a lot of stunting. We just wanted to make (Adrian) Peterson go one way. It kind of hurts your rushing times, but we were still getting there on the movement. We definitely just wanted to make him go one way.”
BRIAN URLACHER, LB
On picking up loose balls:
“When the ball's on the ground, we pick it up and run with it. In practice, if we get a pass we try to score with it.”
On losing teammates during the game:
“I don’t know what happened to any of them. I know Peanut (Tillman) suffered an ankle or something like that. Lance (Briggs) left at one point. We’ll see tomorrow. It’s never good when your teammates go down like that. We lost three offensive linemen. It’s not good.”
On slowing down Adrian Peterson:
“We got to the football. We played a lot of Cover 2, which is the stuff to do against them because he’s such a good back. We missed a lot of tackles the first half and he got a few yards late in the game when it didn’t really matter. We held him in check for the most part in the first half.”
On bouncing back from last week:
“It’s a home division game. We expect to win all those. (We had) a tough team coming in here playing well, but we took care of business.”
MICHAEL BUSH, RB
On the remodeled offensive line:
“I didn’t watch them. How many sacks did we give up? Any? One? I will take it. It was better than last week. It’s good.”
On the offensive players going down:
“It’s tough seeing anybody go down. You want everybody to be healthy. It’s a long season.”
ROBERTO GARZA, OL
On losing two offensive lineman:
“Losing two starters is tough to overcome. Ed (Williams) and Gabe (Carimi) going in at guard, a position he hasn’t played, they did a hell of a job. It’s a tribute to the job coach (Mike) Tice is doing with us. Those guys played more than half the game at positions they hadn’t played at all during the week.”
On being down to the final backup lineman:
“It’s the first time. It was a tough situation. When no one else can get hurt, we were out there still battling. We were able to move the ball, and obviously Jay (Cutler) had a great game.”
TIM JENNINGS, DB
On losing teammates during the game:
“We feel like we have good enough players that could start all over the league. Next man up.”
On the team’s ability to punch the ball free:“We work on that each and every day at practice. I think that’s what separates us from a whole lot of teams. I haven’t been everywhere, but nobody emphasizes what we do each day, the way we do it. As you see, it shows up on Sunday.”
