
Bob Montgomery is the news director for the radio stations in the WSBT Radio Group. He anchors newscasts daily on Newstalk 960-WSBT, Oldies 94.3 and Cat Country 99.9.
Bob has been anchoring the morning news since 1991 when he arrived in South Bend. He began as the morning news anchor at that time for JT in the Morning. While he continues that today, his morning duties have grown to include anchoring the news on the other WSBT Radio stations, and those we broker, and morning television traffic reports on News22. Bob is also the program director for WSBT Radio.
Bob is married to his lovely wife, Rose and father to daughter Katherine. They both keep him in line. Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri and lived there until his arrival in South Bend. He holds a broadcast communications degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His elective areas of emphasis were in English, political science and history.
Bob and his family live in Granger. His spare time is spent playing golf in the summer and ice hockey in the winter. He likes to stay very active. His most favored hobby, though, is spending time with his family. And yes, he does wake up each morning about 2:30 to get to work by 3:30.

Mary Simko joined the WSBT staff in 1981. Before coming to WSBT, Mary covered news for WLMC-AM and WHFB-AM in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She studied journalism and broadcasting at Lake Michigan College. In their spare time, Mary and her husband Chad enjoy attending Michiana's many local festivals.

Shelli is the midday news anchor for WSBT. She comes to South Bend from a radio station in Cincinnati. She's also worked in Charlotte, New York, and Louisville. A Michigan native, Shelli lives with her 8 year old son and a small dog of dubious origin. She is an avid reader and collector of antique perfume bottles.


Rick Carson is the weekend radio news anchor on WSBT. Along with weekend duties, Rick fills in during vacation time. Rick also dj's at our sister station Sunny 101.5.
Rick is a native of sunny San Diego. In spite of growing up on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, Rick doesn't surf or hang out at the beach. His interests were always in talking and being inquisitive. That's why Rick went to college for radio broadcasting.
Rick left California in the late 1960s and worked as a newsman and air personality at several small stations across the country. His most notable stint was in Biloxi, Mississippi in the 1970s. In 1979, Rick landed in Michiana.
Rick's been with WSBT since 2002
